When do the St. Cloud Technical College High-Purity Water courses begin?

The first course, Reverse Osmosis Chemistry, is currently scheduled to begin 
January 13, 2004.  You may register for the course beginning December 1.
Beginning dates for other courses in the High-Purity Water Treatment 
Curriculum will be posted as soon as they are scheduled.

What degree or certification is available from taking the courses?

Certification will be offered in various equipment subjects of high-purity 
water treatment.  For example, a Certificate in Reverse Osmosis Technology 
will be available.  It is anticipated that a Associates of Science degree 
will be available once it has been approved.  Courses may also be taken for 
Continuing Education Credit.

What is the cost of each course?

Each 2 credit course requires a tuition cost of $250.00 plus administration 
fees of $9.96, for a combined cost of $259.96 ($129.98/credit).  In addition, 
the purchase of the related CD-ROM will be required ($240.00) and the related 
text (cost dependent on the text).  Reverse Osmosis, A Practical Guide for 
Industrial Users, 2nd Edition (2002 Byrne) will be required for the first 8 
RO courses.  Its cost is $120.00 plus shipping.

How long will each course take?

The courses are taken independently except that students must check in on the 
Virtual Class Chat Room (educational chat room) on four scheduled occasions. The 
time span of each course is four months during which time a mid-term project 
must be completed, as well as the successful completion of a final project 
and the final exam.

How many classes are there in the entire series?

Sixteen are planned although five are yet to be completed, and only RO Chemistry 
is currently scheduled.

Is financial aid available?

For select students, CEA will discount the course CD-ROMs.  Contact CEA for more 
information.
