RO Chemistry Class Assignments
For those students beginning Reverse Osmosis Chemistry, assignments will be due every two to three weeks as indicated. It is expected that students will read all necessary materials from the course text, "Reverse Osmosis, A Practical Guide for Industrial Users" (Byrne, 2002) and its practice questions, complete the related topics and practice questions in the Volume I. RO Chemistry CD-ROM, prior to answering the chapter-end questions from the book. Students are expected to participate in the class once per week by posting something substantive on the Class Technical Discussion Board and/or by actively participating in a Class Chatroom Session. The instructor, Wes Byrne, strongly believes that participation in these activities will contribute to the student's depth of understanding of the material.
During the first 2 months, students should also be investigating a Mid-term project, some sort of research or experiment approved by the instructor. The results should be e-mailed to the instructor on or before March 23. This work may be posted to the Technical Discussion Board where students will then be free to review and comment on the work. A Final project should be completed during the second half of the course and its results e-mailed to the instructor on or before May 10, by which date the Final Exam from the CD-ROM should also be successfully completed and its verification file e-mailed to the instructor.
