The next Distance Learning course is Reverse Osmosis Monitoring, scheduled to begin June 9, 2008. Ready to join us?   The courses are now presented using web casts that can be viewed as a streaming video clip.  The presentations support educational material taken from the RO Book and from the course CD-ROM.   Each 2-credit course is part of the High-Purity Water curriculum at St. Cloud Technical College (an accredited Minnesota State College).  Courses can be taken for PDHs, CEUs, Certification, or AAS degree  Contact CEA if interested.

INSTRUCTIONAL METHODS
Standard courses, such as Reverse Osmosis Monitoring are broken into weekly sessions that take place over approximately 10 weeks.  Each week is designed around an assignment that consists of viewing several topics from the associated Encyclopedia of Water Treatment CD-ROM, as well as reading and answering assigned questions from the course textbook.  There will also be discussion questions posted on the course web site.  Those who demonstrate that they have viewed each session's web cast will receive full credit for the session.  Passing the course final exam ensures that the participant passes the course with a minimum grade of "C".  Grades of a "B" or "A" can be earned through active participation in the course assignments.

Encyclopedia of Water Treatment Training CDs - Shockwave download issues:

The latest Adobe (formerly Macromedia) Shockwave player (10.2.0.23) download has a bug and is not functional in operating the Director animations contained within the training CDs.  It will be necessary to uninstall this Shockwave version using "Add or Remove Programs" in the Control Panel.  Then download and install the older Shockwave 9 version from Adobe, http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_18629&sliceId=1.
